Not happy with my Grim Reapers

Last November, I replaced my stock tires with a set of 25" Grim Reapers. I've put on 70 miles since then and finally rode on pavement for the first time. It felt like I had a flat spot on the tires. Turns out my rear tires are about 1/4" out of round! I haven't talked to the retailer yet, but hopefully I'll be able to get them replaced since they're apparently defective. Can a tire get a flat spot after sitting for just 5 days? My ATV has not sat for longer than that since I mounted the tires.

A bias tire will get flat spots until you ride a little bit. If anyone has ever had the old 3/4 or 1 ton pickups that had the 16.5's bias ply tires will tell you that. I have never heard of a radial flat spotting. I have said before that these tire makers need to make a better quality tire. The industry is making tires that would be fine on machines of old that would go 50-60 mph! Today's machines will go 80 and you cant tell me that when you pull out of the woods onto that dirt or paved road you dont have the urge to wind it up! I believe if they can make car and truck tires bigger than wheeler tires that ride smooth they can with atv/utv tires! The tire makers need to catch up with the times, they make them go 80 and people are gonna go that fast! After all your paying just as much for tires for your wheeler as your car and light truck. I usually believe you get what you pay for and I know reapers are on the upper price range. I believe thats one of the first times I have heard something bad about them. I want a tire with an inch of tread, 26-27 tall, that is smooth as glass at 80 and is light as stock within reason! These aftermarket tires weigh an extreme amount compared to stock tires. Something has to get better or I will just keep buyin take off's that people dont want!

Agree with lod, radials should not flat spot. Send them back.

Just an update:

I talked with the seller and he agreed to exchange the tires. I am not happy however that I had to pay the shipping cost of $60 to return the tires and $30 to dismount the defective tires.

I bet it wasn't Discount Tire! They're the only place to buy tires if you ask me.

I bought the tires from TheATVSuperStore. Thor has been great in the communication process, but is not willing to buck up for the return shipping or dismounting costs. One of the main reasons I bought these tires was Thor's picture showing a Reaper tire with 2200 miles of wear compared to a new tire...virtually no wear. I do like the tires, but am not thrilled with the customer service from Thor.

HaHaHa, doesn't surprise me there. But shh no dissing Thor aloud on the forum.... Next time go to Discount Tire. Discount Tire is a stand up company I purchased a set of rims and Grim Reapers from them for my Sportsman back in November and well riding a few weeks ago as I was starting down a hill I watched my right rear tire go rolling down the hill in front of me rear end slammed to the ground luckily I got it stopped but the point of my ramble is that lost all the lugs off that tire while riding that day and it turns out Discount Tire sent me lug nuts for a XP when I got the rims They seemed to go on fine but they were the wrong size. It all ended up costing $670 in damage to the wheeler plus another $70 for a new rim (the holes where wallowed out). Discount tire didn't bat a eye apologized for the mix up and two days later I had a check in my mailbox and a new rim at my door. Plus they paid me to do the work. NOW THAT'S WHAT A STAND UP COMPANY DOES! Oh yeah sorry for your bad luck.
