Gorilla SilvBack XLite vs ITP Mega Mayhem
So I sent my local polaris dealer an e-mail asking for a price for two wheel and tire combinations
Combination #1
STI C7 12X7 Wheels
STI Gorilla Silverback XLITE Tires 27x11 on all 4 corners (1.25" Lug) (29.8lbs)
Combination #2
ITP SS212 Black
ITP Mega Mayhem 27X11 on all 4 corners (1.5" Lug) (34lbs)
Wheels & Tires are going on my stock 800.
Riding Terrain is Clay, Mud, Muskeg, but needs to travel several miles on gravel, paved roads to get to the trail. I've decided to go Wide all around because i need added flotation with the muskeg we ride on sometimes.
I'm not willing to go with a Silverback or Outlaw on a value bike(axle snappers)
Let me know what you think.

I havn't bought wheels or tires yet because to be honest I havn't rode the quad almost all summer. One ride maybe. I will be going with ITP SS212 Wheels in 14" size and 27" Zilla tires in 27x10 and 27x12.

Yeah i think so! They seem to be the tire of choice for where I ride. I'd love the big boy tires but on a value line bike, I don't feel like replacing axles every other ride.

Have you ever checked out the outlaw radials...they are an incredible smooth riding tire..not as aggressive as the bias ply outlaws or silverbacks but will get the job done in the mud

I did look at the Radial Outlaws, my problem is that althought they are a great quality tire and do everything well, they are:
A. Expensive
B. Heavy
In canada the radial Outlaws alone are nearly as expensive as Zilla's in the same size mounted on ITP Aluminum wheels. I can get 27"x14" Zilla's on 14" ITP Aluminum Wheels for $899. I think the Radials run $799 alone.
The other part is even though I have an 800 I don' want to reclutch the bike because I plow in the winter with the stock tires. I would assume clutching the bike would make it overkill in low gear on stock tires come winter.
I appreciate the suggestion though.

I have ITP Mega Mayhems on my 500 sportsman. They are 27". I have to say they are the best choice in tires. Dont get me wrong i love the silverbacks and outlaws, but not for the price. I got the mayhems for $651 got a great deal from a local atv shop in town. They look great, im very happy with them.
