850XP too wide after wheel install, suggestions?
I have installed ITP SS112 wheels and ITP TerraCross R/T tires. My problem is that the quad is too wide now for our trails in Wisconsin & Michigan as well as for my own personal preferences with the rear at 5+3 offset.
I see that ITP makes a different offset for the RZR. If I changed over to the SS112 offset 3+5 (part number 1428315404B* for the RZR 4/156) would they stick out less? My second option is to run the SS112 fronts on all 4 wheels (part # 1428313404B) If I go that way what is the largest tire that will fit on that wheel?
3rd option is to go back to stock but I prefer not too. Any suggestions and or ideas? See pictures below. First is with the rear 5+3 offset and the other two are the fronts mounted on the one side.
Thanks

Whats your total width ?
Stock 850/550xp Length/Width/Height 83.25" / 211.4 cm, 47.6" / 120.9 cm, 50.75" / 128.9 cm
I found this, hope it helps
2009 Wisconsin Act 85
2009 Wisconsin Act 85 makes the following changes to the statutory definition of an ATV:
o Increases the maximum manufactured width of an ATV to 50 inches.
o Requires that the ATV be designed by the manufacturer to travel on three or more low-pressure
tires.
o Increases the maximum operating pressure for a low-pressure tire to 10 pounds per square inch.
o Eliminates the rim diameter requirement.
The Act also prohibits the operation of an ATV with tires other than low-pressure tires and prohibits
modifications to an ATV that result in its width exceeding 50 inches.
Effective date: December 16, 2009.

Are you worried about registering your machine? they go by the stock width. and in all mine miles of trails I have yet to see a warden and I dont think there to concerned about a couple inches. I got the same width as you with mine itp rims and tires. on a 850 xp.

MrThor I know this doesn't answer your question, but I just wanted to make a comment regarding the regulations. I would have to say that if there is a warden looking to stop you and measure your width of your machine while out riding, they have way too much time on thier hands.
Not sure where you are thinking about riding in Utah, but if it is in the Moab area, Jeep capital of the world, you will not have any visits from a warden regarding tire size. Haven't run into any gates in this region when I have ridden there either.
