Choosing a rim & tire size

Need some help, I just bought a 2010 Sportsman 500 and added a 2 inch lift. Can I put 27x9x12 (front) and 27x12x12 (rear) on the factory rims without having a problem?

Thanks for the input, but I ended up going to Mad Dog Polaris in Lake Worth, FL and buying 14 inch rims with 27 inch mud lite xl. Now I hear about adding a clutch kit or something called a stage 1 kit. What experience have you had with either and what do you recommend I get if anything?

if you had a 800 or 850 I would say you dont really need a clutch kit but with a 500 I would say drive it around first and see what you think. If you think its too sluggush get a clutch kit. if you dont mind it you know the answer. And if your a real nice guy you will show some pics of your new rims and tires. I got some mudlite xl for the 06 800 and they are a pretty sweet tire so far, havent gotten in any serious mud but ive heard good things.

The shop is going to put them on this Wednesday and I can't wait to ride it. I'll take some photos and post them when it's done. I already added the front and rear rack extenders as well as front and rear brush guards. It looks good so far, but the rims & tires will top it off. I'll get back with you and let you know how it rides. Then like you said, I can tell if a clutch kit is needed. What do you think about a stage 1 kit?

when going up 2 tire sizes on a 500 bike you will notice a power loss. if it was mine yes i would do a clutch kit. the stage1 carb kits are more for when you add a aftermarket exhaust. these carb models today are kinda lean to pass the EPA crap and if your quad runs lean(hesitation all the time) you may add the carb kit to richen it up and run smoother.

Chopper89, I posted my pics under the Tire & Rims pics thread. SNW629, I deceided to add the stage 1 kit to my atv when I had my service done. I'm very happy, I lost a few mph on my top end speed, but gained a lot of lower end power.
