850 on 27's in the back of my truck

Hey guys,

I want to put 27" tires, either the zilla's, XTR's or GBC spartacus on the 2010 850. My concern is I dont know weather it will be too wide to fit between my wheel wells. I have a '04 f-150 with the short 5.5' box.

Has anyone been through this situation before or know if it will fit. Im hoping it wont be too wide but im afraid it might be with the new wheels and spacers. Any input would be great.

Thanks.

it wont fit between the wheel wells the xp standerd is 50 inches wide with the new tires even on stock rims will be another inch or two your wheel wells are 48.I put mine xp with aftermarket rims and 27 itp's in mine truck (99 dodge halfton) but mine are kinda beaten down from firewood. if your courages and got skill it will climb over it . but your ramps bettter be well grounded or straped to your truck cause when the front is climbing the wells your back will still be on ramps so make sure your in 4 wheel. for length you will need to keep your gate down and strap your ride in. good luck.

Do you have any tire rub with the 28" zilla's, did you have to do any trimming?

lots of room for 28" zillas on the 850xp. no rubbing or triming.

I've got the same truck and I have to use a trailer.

You can get it on there. You will have to climb the wells. I have a 2009 Dodge Ram and the wells are exactly 52" wide. I can side the quad right thru the middle and almost close the gate. Any wider and I will be climbing the wells.

I usually just load it on the trailer and call it a day, since its a beast to get strapped in on the dodge. The brush guards on mine can actually tap the rear window if the load shifts. So I have to strap it in both directions to make sure I don't have a busted window on the way to the trail.

It wouldn't take much to build a small shelf/ramp for the front tires to sit on top of the wheel wells. You'll deffinately have to roll with the tailgate down.

guys, go to [MOD edit for free advertising -blueline15] and take a look at how your problems of fitting the bikes in the truck can be eliminated, these inexpensive racks will first protect the rear window, put the front of the bike up at an angle which gets the atv in 8 to 10 inches farther, and you might even get the tail gate closed. i have a short bed 6'-10" bed and i can get a rhino in with out touching the wheel wells.
