Exclamation Bigger tires on '09 XP 550

After a year the stock tires are junk and its time to put that tax refund to good use. The question is will 27x11-14 on rear and 27x9-14 front fit? I have heard alot about bending sway bars, which i REALLY don't want to do. Whats the cheapest/best way to make they fit if they don't. Or will the fit with no issues. I am thinking of going with the STI Mud Trax XL in the size i listed. Thanks for any help.

Will it need spacers in the front and back or just the back? All the issues i have been hearing have been about the back rubbing. Also does going to bigger tires have any effect on the warranty?

Spacers for the back. From what i hear they are putting clutch kits in with the bigger tires, yours arent too big though, so not sure. Call your dealer about the warranty, more than likely they wont warrant it.

all depends on the dealer with mud tires, some ignore them and some do not. the only 11" rear tire that will work on the xp without some mod is the zilla.

I put 27x9x14 on the front, and 27x11x14 on the rear of my 09' 550xp.. I went with these GBC Spartacus ATV Tires
I didnt want to bend the sway bar, so i put these on1in WHEEL SPACERS -WSP2-M #464 | Twisted ATVs and couldnt be happier.

It only needed spacers for the back, but i put them on all the way around for the tracking, the tires stick out a little from under the fenders but not to much at all

I go looking for mud, but still wanted a good radial tire for trails, and if i go on pavement they wont wear out so soon , and them being 8 ply, they are more puncture resistant, and i go through some pretty serious mud.

I asked my dealer about the larger size, and they gave me a number to call for polaris warranty, and they said the slightly larger tire would not void my warranty, only if its too large and agressive.

hey Chopper, did you have to put a clutch kit in for those tires, and did you lose any speed or power. I like the extra ground clearance i seen in your album

no clutch kit one size bigger and your ok. I honestly cant say I have had these tires on from the moment I got it they put them on at the dealership.
I was going to put them on when I got home but the guys at the dealership wanted to see them on mine ride so they put them on for free.
All I can tell you I can smoke mine brother on his 800 sportsmen. there 27-14 ITP XTR's . Awsome tire by the way.
