what psi to use in mud tires

Hello everyone.I have just had mudlite xtr tires put on and when i checked psi they had been set 13 & 12.I thought that was a bit high so i changed them to 9 & 8.I have no experience with anything but stock tires and am wondering just where the psi should be.Maybe the same as stock? Any help is much appreciated.Thanks.

you do not say what quad they are on? this is my 3rd set of XTR so i have about 3000 miles ride time on them. i like 5 psi front and rear for general trail riding.

I always went low also, I believe I used 5 in the front and 6 in the rear when I used to ride utility quads

5-6 sounds good to me...except in the mud. I kept rolling the tire off the rim until I bumped it up to 10-12.

I've been running 8 psi and when I pull my trailer I go up to 12 psi. These XTR's can take 15 to 18 psi max. On the stock wheels I wouldn't go too low on the air pressure though for everyday riding.
