Running mixed sizes... What's your opinion?

Here's a long story.

When my sp450 was traded in at the dealer it needed new tires. What they did was put on a set of RZR stock 25" takeoffs that were leftover from a customer getting an aftermarket set. Problem is that the offset of the rear wheels is way too deep. They fit and run ok, but the rear end was about 4 inches narrower than it should have been.

So I went up to the dealer to look around in the back and see if they happened to have any sportsman takeoffs or used rear rims that I could just put my tires on.

As luck would have it, they have a pair of ITP black steel wheels with nearly new 26" vampires. There was also one front ITP wheel with the same tire in the same condition. They sold me the rears for $100.

My original plan was to keep the wheels, swap the tires, and sell the two vampires. Now I'm kinda thinking about getting the one front tire/wheel, then waiting till I have the $ to get one more wheel/tire, and selling the RZR set. I'm thinking that's what I'll do, and after I sell the tire set, I'll probably have 50-100 bucks in a practically new set of wheels/tires.

BUT HERE'S MY QUESTION: What do you guys think about running the 26" vampires on the rear and the 25" Maxxis tires on the front? It'll just be until I manage to get the money to order the fourth tire/wheel. More than likely I won't put more than 100 miles or so on them if I do leave it like this. The only problem I've been able to think of so far is a difference in balance going down steep slopes.

Sorry for such a long post, but there's a lot of info involved in this.

i guess it wont hurt as long as you dont put it in four wheel drive. if you engage the fourwheel drive then you will put alot of stress on the transfer case. this is were the shaft from the tranny goes to distibute the power to the front and rear wheels. the transfer case will want to spin the front tires faster then the back tires the timing rotation will be off.
