27" zilla's

Question... Are 27" zilla's too big for a sportsman 500 HO? They will be on the stock set of rims with no lift kit or spacer's. Will they fit just fine without any mods and does the 500 have enough power without mods?

you have enough power but you gonna notice a loss of power ,and it will be hard on the belt ...i would recomend a clutch kit. if you do go that route you could try them and see if its alright with you and if you think you need more torque get a clutch kit. as far as fitting as long as you dont go wider than 9 you will be fine with stock rims and no spacers

Thanks again Chopper. Maybe it would be a better idea to go with 26's. Really dont want to make any mods if i dont have to. What you think?

26 would be an easier route to go. and you can still get a more aggresive tire. one size up isnt a big deal its just with the 500 you will notice a loss of power. and more wear on the belt, it a tough desicion cause the bigger tires do look really sweet. and of course you want to be happy cause you cant take them back if you dont like them.

I've been running 27" Zillas on mine with no problem. I have noticed a little top end loss, around 5-7 mph. But on the low end not much change. No lift or spacers and on stock time. They have really impressed me on the trails. Will be the next several sets for me.

i run 27 zillas on my 450 Kodiak. trick is to run them in low when going through mud and deep water.other wise okay.it will always help if you have a clutch kit , also better air filter k&n or a uni. just my 2 cents.when you go to bigger tires you have to look at weight and size. same weight but bigger tire will be harder to turn.

27" zillas are 26" tires. They all run an inch short.

Oh and they will barely be heavier than the stockers.
