Why aren't Vampire sizes consistent?

I noticed that my front tires didn't look as tall as the back, so I measured them.

The sizes are 26x9.50x12 on front and 26x12x12 on the rear.

The rear tires measure 27.25" but the fronts only measure 25.5". Why is this?

I know that different tire brands can be a little taller or shorter than the tire size that they are listed as. What I don't get is why two different 26" vampires would be 1.75" off.

Crap I thought it was something to do with that Vampire book/movies. I live in the middle of that stuff and I'm sick of hearing about it!

what size rims? if your fronts are on 6" wide rims and your rears are 10's that would do it

Same size rims. ITP delta steel 12x7

Seems that they had manufacturing inconsistencies b/c some were made here and some were made in mexico. I've been told that the ones from mexico were made shorter for some reason.

Being that much of a difference in size, I wonder if there is a worry in messing with your 4x4... The rolling radius of the tires is different which would make the front and rear want to turn at slightly different speeds, putting extra stress on your drivetrain.

Looked them up on interco and they list the fronts at 25.8 and the rears at 26.2. They also show both to be mounted on 12x7 rims. My fronts measure pretty close to their specs, but the rears are still a full inch taller than they're supposed to be.

It's also interesting to see that they show the true measurement of the 9.5 width to actually be 9.10. That's a lot closer to 9 than 9.5.

Oh well, guess I'll just run them till they wear out and then get some outlaws.

Kenda Bearclaws are bad about the size differences also. Over an inch difference in the front and rear tire sizes.
