you will notice the power loss on the 550 if you go xtr, they will fit ok. what kind of terrain do you ride? do you ride a lot of mud and need the xtr or do you ride mostly trails and snow where the bighorn may be better?

Most of my riding in the summer months is trails (not a lot of mud) hills, rocky, tight maneuvering. Overall, most of my time is spent on the ice in the winter, fishing. Lots of deep snow, slush and layered ice. My past machine was a YAMMY and I had tire chains all the way round to keep it moving. I tow about 250 lbs. on a sled when I go out. I'm sure the stock tires with chains will work - I'm looking for an alternative and going up to a 6-ply tire as well, for a little more dependability.
Thanks for the replies, guys.

I don't have 14s on my sportsman 700, but found some newer take-offs from a 2009 850XP. Does anyone know if i will have a problem with these rims? Also, my stock tire size was 25s, I'm already planning on a lift, but will I need spacers?
