Swamp Lites or XTR`s
i`m looking for tires for my `05 Sp 800 and having been thinking of Swamp Lites or XTR`s...both in 27`s....which is the better tire to run(mostly dirt roads and trails, some mud and some pavement)?what does everyone here think of these tires?...S/L are $450, XTR`s are $575-580 approx....thats including tax......I`d like to try Pit Bulls, but they are hard to get in my area...was told it could be 2-3 mths waiting for them.....anyone know where there are any in Canada for sale that has free shipping to NB?

I dont know what the extra cost would be but... atvoutfitters has the XTR's for $449 and free shipping to the USA this is where i found them to be the cheapest.
there policies indicate that they do ship international, check them out maybe it might work out.... i dont know what the additional cost would be to Canada.
International Orders: Shipping will be by UPS, DHL, or USPS by special request. Orders must be paid in U.S. Dollars only and by credit card only. Customer is responsible for all duties and taxes incurred.

I agree, for your riding conditions the XTR's would be great. What diameter wheels are you running on your bike 12 or 14 inch?, and make sure you have enough clearance in the front and rear. I had to use spacer's to clear my 11" wide tires in the rear of my XP but that was using the stock wheels.

of those 2 I would go with the xtr's better wear and radials. I had the 27" xtr's on 14" wheels on my 05 700. they were just too heavy for me and I switched to 27" maxxis zillas on 12" wheels and the difference was night and day. the zillas are way lighter, less power loss and as far as handling they are pretty close. the only thing I can't compare is the wear I only have about 150 miles on the zillas.

the zilla is a soft rubber compound like the swamp lite and wear fast. the 28x14 i had on my xp lost 1/4" in 350 miles of general trail riding on the rear tires, the fronts not as bad.

Any fit issues? Too much tire for the power of the 550?
That is a pretty good deal.
