New TerraCross tires.
Mounted my new TerraCross tires last week and FINALLY all our company left and got to go for a ride. Man, these things are great. In soft sandy hills where the 550 XP bounced with the stock tires I just seemed to float up them. What a huge difference over stock tires. I used 1" spacers on the back. They were pricey but, I feel they were worth the money. I also like the 6-ply feature. Now I don't have to worry too much about the prickly stuff out here in New Mexico.

I have the Terracross and agree with you about the excellent performance these tire give. Smooth as glass and they work well in all terrain. XTRs are also great tires.

i ended up getting the xtr's, but same as you said nmpolaris, a lot smoother of a ride. I run 5psi in mine which adds extra smoothness and tire grip as well.

Just wondering how your 550 handled the extra weight of the TerraCross tires, and if you had to do any clutching. I want to get a new set for my 550, but can't decide -thinking about Bighorn II because of weight.

I also thought about the Bighorns. There's quite a few guys out here running the TerraCross'. So I figured what the heck. I don't know the weight difference between the tires. But, I didn't notice any power loss. I suppose there probably is but, I didn't feel it. No clutching done.

Performance changes were not noticable on the SP 500 in the switch from the stock tires to the ITP Terracross. The ride and traction differences were huge improvements. High speed performance is also greatly improved.
