My 3 favorite tires
i am a somewhat old guy who has had many quads and tires and here are my favorite 3.
trail tire= maxxis bighorn, smooth ride, wear like iron, not to heavy and decent price.
combo tire(trails, mud, snow)= itp xtr, smooth tire for the tread design, wear good and will go threw some decent mud holes. shop around and you can find a good price. only downside they are a little heavy for smaller CC quads.
mud tire= maxxis zilla, light weight mud tire, i will take the 30x14 over any other as a mud tire because of the light weight.
these are my favorite 3 to date, what are yours?

I agree on those tires being the best for these machines but you do have to narrow them down for your riding condition's. Down here we have no snow or any rocky area's but we do have some mud and lot's of it right after heavy rainfall's that we get, like 20 inches of rain in 2 or 3 day's when a tropical depression sit's over us. Most bikes down here are lifted, snorkeled and running outlaw's or silverback's over 30 inches tall and they still get stuck in these swampy area's. Too many water moccacins and gator's to be getting off the bike and sinking up to your waist trying to winch out. I've seen people having to be winched out too! I'm too old and maybe too smart to be doing that stuff anymore.

Due to the BP oil fiasco we can't fish out of our normal area at Grand Isle. We have a fishing camp, boat and had a beautiful beach that we can't use. The wooded areas around here are so thick with grass and vines in the summer you can't get an atv in most of them. Guess I'll have to sit inside with the AC on!

Well, it looks like the over the hill gang (near 60 here) agrees on one thing. That is, that the choices that have been made in this thread are the right ones. LOL

Well, SNW - I got you beat by about 5 years and I don't consider us "somewhat old" - just seasoned and experienced. Although I don't have much experience in different quad tires - I'm about to "learn" about the BigHorns.
