Upsized tires on 850XP now burning lots of fuel
So i have an 09 850 XP that is stock but i put on a set of 28" Interco Swamp Lites. No fitment issues they clear the sway bar and everything, barely but they do. But now the bike is burning double the fuel that it did with the stock 26's on it. Has anyone ever dound this when they built up the quad ?

Mine burns fuel on stock tires I can imagine that it would get worse. Not much you can do about it. I got some rotopax fuel cans. They come in real handy. You have to pay for all the power on the 850. The price comes in fuel usage.

I burn a little more with my XTR's but not too bad. Worth it for the improvement over the stock tires.

Actually i found it really good on fuel before the bigger tires, i ride with a 750 Brute and an 800 RZR and used to be right with them fuel wise, could go about 140 KM gravel road riding before empty. But now its down to like 75 km just cruising back roads taking it easy

28s are huge. That's quite a bit of unsprung weight what you have to turn. Didn't think the KPG would be THAT BAD though.

i talked to the service manager at my local dealer and i really think hes as dumb as he looks. Didnt even believe me that my speedo was in km/h and not mp/h. And yeah i was shocked that it dropped that much i have to figure something out because i cant go very far riding like this. Everyone i ride with gets about 125 to 150 km per tank average riding

those 28x14 swamp lites are NOT lite, that is the problem. fronts are 29lbs and rear is 35lbs. there goes your mileage. you need a dalton clutch kit to help with that weight.
