Yes I just got the service manual on CD the other day. I checked the connections you recommended and found them to be OK. I used electronic cleaner on them and put them back together with dialetec grease. This problem acts like a circuit breaker to me as that it seems to go back to normal after a couple of minutes. I have found that this is only a problem with the lights, the 4WD has no effect what so ever. I have checked out the charging circuit and the alternator is operating just great. 12.6v to 13v at idle 14.5v at higher rpm.
I will keep looking at the wiring, I am wondering if I will find a short somewhere.
Sorry I took so long to get back to you, I have a bunch of projects going on. I purchased 1084 solar cells and I am assembling them into solar panels. I just completed my first one yesterday and it tested out great. Only 24 more to go.

Do you have a service manual? (02-04 are basically the same)
