Wink First reg in Mass...

Afternoon fellas...

Looking for help in the form of info from guys in Massachusetts.

I see I can renew online but no info on first reg... I am assuming I need to do in-person, just looking for clarification...

Also looking to hit Beartown state park in the next couple weeks. Any comments or recommendations? http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/western/bear.htm

http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/trails/beartown.pdf

I THINK I was here many moons ago, I know where I was was in the Pittsfield area, but cannot remember for certain if it was here.

I think you need to go to the RMV office. The closet one to Beartown is in Springfield and it's 30.00 bucks to register for non residents. The phone number is 413-733-1642 if you have specific questions.

here is the link to the form if you don't have one already:

No Problem, I actually spoke to a woman in the Springfield office a couple of weeks ago. She was very helpful. It may just have been a slow day because she answered the phone pretty quickly and there wasn't a recording or voice menu to get past.

I was thinking about registering my quad in MA also, but it seems that all the legal trails are in western MA which is 2 to 3 hours from me and New Hampshire has lots of trails within an hour or so.

I prefer NH myself, but for me in CT that's even farther..

Soory I missed this CW, not too often I get to give you info, usually the other way around

I mailed mine in to the Causeway St. office and got it back in the mail 5 days later. We usually go to October Mt (AKA Rocktober Mt) and rarely Beartown. They closed a lot of trails in Pittsfield State Forest so we don't go there anymore. You can check out some videos from each on my "videographer's" site, be ready to turn the volume down

And BTW, a quick shot up 91 is Pisgah SP and the tri-state trails in southern NH. We ride with a lot of guys from New Brit/central CT and they don't find it too hard to commute although I do understand the MA sites are undoubtably closer. Just some food for thought.

Some day I am driving over to meet you guys. I have fun up here but want to hit the trails with the pros. Unfortunately there are no direct roads through the Adirondacks to get there from here. But someday....

I did just check my google maps. Beartown isn't all that far from Albany NY where my sister-in-law lives. She is about 3.5 hours from me. Sometime I will make it all the way to your neck of the woods.
