If you do not use the 87a on the SPDT 5 pin relay then can you use the SPST 4 pin relay?
Joined the sight looking for this exact mod and found it thank you

Welcome
Not sure on the SPST, not much of an electrical guy myself as I fix humans for a living. I have read about 4 pin relays that work, but I am unsure if you need the double throw in order for it to work properly. Maybe someone who knows can chime in here....

If you own one of the value line (500, 800) this will get all 3 lights (low beams and high beam) to light up at the same time as opposed to one or the other.

3 headlight mod
IF you go to "ebay" and type in '3 headlight mod' you will get an item listed by a "limolarry" for just under $10.00. This mod is very simple as you only have to clip two quick connecters into the green and yellow wires from the headlight bundle. It works very well. It took less than 10 minutes it install.

Thank you for posting this, however and certainly meaning no disrespect, this is a post designed to aid people in doing a 3 light relay modification in this interest of never putting the switch in harm's way. Although many people have never had a problem with the diode modification a few members have fried their switch and regretted not putting the relay in initially.

Thank you for posting the relay mod. I did this mod today, and actually enjoyed how easy it was. I also purchased the relay and harness, and soldered the connections. I wanted to make sure i never had an issue using clips. For anybody that doesnt think they are savy enough to do this mod, well dont worry, its very easy, and straight forward, no surprises, went just like the video.. thanks again..
