U.S. Army Orders More Polaris ATVs


MINNEAPOLIS (August 18, 2009) — Polaris Industries Inc. today announced the Company received orders from the U.S. Army to provide additional vehicles, parts and accessories of the company's highly successful militarized ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle), the MV700, for operations in Afghanistan. The MV700 already has proven to be a very versatile vehicle in supporting a wide variety of missions conducted in urban, rural, mountain and desert areas worldwide. Values of these orders exceed $6 million and deliveries are planned for later this year.

I believe it is both a roll bar, gun mount and a basic back rest as this machine is capable of hauling 6 people.

with road side bombs and all sure hate to be on one of these over there. this the same army that said they needed more armor on the humvee ?

To be honest, it's not that impressive, the white shocks and steel winch hook sticks out for something that should be camo'ed. The roll bar/gun rest/ back rest is somthing that my dad would have made out of scrap metal.
