I have to agree with Jamieg when it comes to Massachusetts. The commonwealth just does not seem to want to get with the program. Maine, on the other hand, is with it and expanding their program and trails as fast as possible. If a rail bed has been in non-use for any length of time, it is being purchased for rails to trails to improve connections between systems with better travel conditions. In New England, there is no place like it.

michigan has a lot of great trail systems. We've even passed laws in the past couple years allowing shoulder riding on secondary roads. allowing for easy access to gas and food. This has also enabled several trail systems to expand. Goto fishweb.net it shows all of our state run trails.

Thats what we're trying todo here in NY. Our biggest problem (aside from the tree huggers saying we're ruining the environment) is getting the snowmobile clubs to work with us. Many snowmobilers ( and I ride sleds too) hate atv's and the idea of sharing their trail systems with them even during the summer months. As someone who is familiar with the issues both sides bring to the table, I have this to say , If you ride, join a club, put in a work day (or two) and treat the trails you ride with respect. Especially if you share the system with snowmobilers during the winter.

Northern Maine has some of the best riding I have ever seen. Hundreds of miles of old railroad beds that will take you anywhere you want to go.

A lot of trails in Southern Maine is getting to be that way too. The state of Maine is trying to tap into the money of riders coming from all over and they're catching on. It's about time because they are hurting for the money.

Here in Saskatewan Canada i have ridden my quads to the A&W, gas station, ect. I am in the country and on atv it takes proly 5-10min. to get to town. Except in the middle of winter when the snow has blown and drifted on the trail. 2yrs ago it was like 4ft. high in some places, sowmashines were getting stuck. Cuz you couldnt go very fast. too many trees. But anyways im heading to work and its -33C, last week it was a beutiful -8C.

I have always liked riding in Ohio to be honest. Some counties allow quads on the road, there are quite a few great places to ride along with some nice tracks also.

I'm a little bias... But have to admit we have it pretty good here in Colorado. Anything from flat lands to 10,000 feet plus, and throw in some sand dunes.

NY Sucks I can tell you, when I lived there it was atleast a 3 hour trip to NJ, upstate NY (private land) or PA. We use to ride as kids until they asked us or forced us to stop, I dont have 1 friend that didnt turn to drugs because of bordum!
Live in PA now and cant wait for my kids to be old enough to ride there own ATVs. Trails are for ATVs in 3 seasons & snowmobile in winter & thats state land plus many private areas to join.
Want to keep people out of trouble there must be things to do!
