Would you drive an hour to save $300 on a new Quad??

Hi All,

Been researching, went in to my local dealer, and the new 2011 Sportsman 400HO/500HO have gone up, but the MSRP on the Canadian site has not.

Started making calls, and can save at least $300 if I drive an hour. So add to that taxes, financing, and minus the gas, and do you think I would be nuts to drive an hour to save that?

2011 400HO is what I am looking for.

Only accessories will be hand/thumb warmers, winch, and if I stick with the 400HO, EBS will be added.

hey it all depends on service. i can drive 15 minutes to a polaris shop and get horrible service or drive and 1 hour and 15 minutes and have great service. if the other shop has better service go to them itll be worth it

i have 5 polaris dealers within 1 hour drive of me,50 miles. being i do my own service work i go with who ever gives me the best deal. the 2 sportsmans in my garage now where from the close dealer 12 miles, but the RZR was from the farthest dealer 50 miles, he was $350.00 less than every one else.

Yes. I would then take the ATV/UTV by the shop that didn't deal and talk to the salesman then the manager. I've done it before with car purchases. Customers actually asked me where I shopped and went their.

I bought my bike about 150 KM's from my place and was told I could get it serviced/warrenty work done at the nearest Polaris dealer.

I do not see why the close dealer is not working with you. Granted it will cut into their profits, but hell its a sale and every dealer will make some money on a sale. I am really surprised they would not match the difference in price by offering you an accessories allowance or giving you a service allowance for oilchanges or something. What I would do is select whatever dealership will give you the best price and then after the purchase take the machine into whichever dealership will provide the best service or gives you the least amount of trouble getting it serviced. I have found that if a dealership is unwilling to work with you on a purchase price, they will be less likely work with you on anything else.

hell yes

I drove an hour and half to save $300 on xp 550 touring and I bought 2 = $600 plus deals on covers and winches!!!!!!!!!! I have found if you push the dealers they WILL negotiate . SO a little drive is well worth saving $$$$$

There is a polaris dealer about three minutes from my house, and before i bought my ATV i went in there to get some fuel line to repair some lawn equipment, when i walked in the door i was treated like what the f**k do you want. I will never go back there again. The next polaris dealer is twenty five minutes away and that`s were i bought my ATV from, there always friendly and willing to help and they will continue to get my business. I don`t mind driving the extra distance.

Pick the dealer who will work with you on warranty, or out of warranty issues. If the dealer is going to do all your maintenance, pick the one with the best service department. Of course, knowing those things ahead of time are difficult. Ask around.
