It may be a 300, the 330 were only 4 strokes, so it's not that. It's likely a 250 cc engine. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure they had a 300 as a trail boss...I could be wrong, I'd have to look later.

If you can find a vin, that will help. It will be stamped on the frame, likely front left wheel well.

Overall, they're very simple, so they tend to be pretty reliable and easy to work on. WIth a machine that age, it really depends on how well it's been taken care of.

Only time I had it running for any time, had my son
holding his hand over carb...any idea's.Previous
owner took carb apart and he flattened the
tabs on the needle seat hanger so it was
flooding lol,I bent them back......would like
to buy a kit, don't know what or where to buy.
Thanks again.

These two strokes are very good bikes!!! I have my 300 Xplorer and love it! There's so many things that can be done to run ALOT better!!Read my signiture for info. Sounds like the carb needs a hard cleaning. I get my kits off ebay for less than locally. There's also a lot of other parts there also. Hit me up if you need any other help.
