Engine Temp Light On

The engine temp light is on in my 325 magnum as soon as I start it even when it's cold and it stays on the entire time. The wheeler seems to be running fine other than that though. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the fan is running, turn key on and see if it starts up, dont worry about it. Thats what i did. if you want to worry about it, it is most likely the thermistor on the top of the rad.

My magnum 325 has the same problem. The temp light comes on as soon as you start it. It is weak and seems to get brighter as you rev the motor. In the sun light it is hard to see. It is not as bright as the low gear light. I have never heard my fan come on but I put 12 volts to it and it ran. I'm thinking I might have a bad switch which is allowing a weak short and causing my weak light that brightens slightly with engine RPM.

for a light to brighten with more rpm your likely looking at a bad battery, battery connection or charging system. As for the fan not coming on you could have an issue there as well. Most of the time the thermistor dies and the fan is always on.

Thanks for the response. The battery is new. I will check for tight connections. The head lights and brake light all seem to work good. The only dash light that doesn't come on and off like they are supposed to is the temp light and as mentioned it is not very bright but does brighten slightly when the rpms come up. I have never heard the fan but I guess that doesn't mean that it isn't coming on and I'm just missing it. My daughter drives it mostly and we don't have any extremely hot weather up here. Maybe its just not getting warm enough to need the fan. I need to look closer at the wires and connections and make sure I don't have a short some where giving a little juice to that light all the time. I hate electrical gremlins.

Magnum 325s don't have coolant. They are air cooled and have an oil cooler. The fan is supposed to kick on to cool the oil if it gets to hot.
