05 magnum 330 temp light is still on.

I have a 05 polaris magnum 330 and the speedo is flashing hot and there is a wrench symbol on it. i replaced the ecm and the temp ligght went off for about a half a mile of ride time and it came back on. i tested the fan and its junk but i jumped the plug with a wire trying to ground out the circut out and that didnt work. what else can i replace/check to cure the flashing hot light. thanks

I had to change the sending unit in the oil cooler on mine and the light works normal now. And there is no fluid level on a 330 magnum except oil level seeing its a air cooled engine.

Oil is a "fluid" and is what I was referencing to check...

If the oil level is low it will overheat.

Just what do you think tells the computer the engine is overheating. I would say the sending unit in the oil cooler. I have had two of these bikes with that same problem and it was a fix. Also if you are running the oil so low that its overheating I would start watching your oil level a lot better because oil cools this engine as well as air. I had one of my customers run one of these 330 engines out of oil when a oil cooler line broke. He burned up the crankshaft and scored the piston and cylinder wall.

I have replacd the.ecm and the.sensor in the oil cooler. I know how to read a.dip stick i have never even come close to runnong it low on oil. And yes the fan is shot i have.one on order but.that should mot be.the.problem because i put a jumper wire in the plug the fan plugs into. Ive worked on quads my whole life and i know how to fix.most anythong but this problem is stumpinge thats why im on here asking questions. And as for thhe speedo reading its over heating theotor really isnt because it flashes hot even when you just.turn the key on. I have.not.ridin the.quad at all since it started.doing it
