Oil change 525

Just finished changing the oil in my 525 Outlaw, what a involved proccess, 1 drain plug, two screens and two filters, got it done though, first oil change so it had some junk in screens, I believe it was the sealant they use between the cases. Cannot believe they reconmend changing every 15 hours.

A very high performance, quick revving motor, with not a lot of engine oil in it. Its one reason why there is two oil filters, so it can go 15 hours between changes. I know guys who have the 525 engine in their supermoto motorcycle and have to change the oil after every race.

I do mine more than every 15 hours, its only 2 quarts. Then the filters are cheap over at Rocky Mt ATV

How much oil are you guys putting back in after a drain and filter change? my manual says 40 ounces, run then check. I did that and the oild was not coming up to the half way mark on the sight glass when warm so I put in about 8 more ounces, now it seems correct, at by how the book says to check it.

I fill it halfway up the sight glass, run it around the block, let it sit for a few minutes and top off as needed.
