Performance Mods ? 525 IRS

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum, I'm still learning the layout of this site. I think I posted this before in the wrong section. But if this is all Outlaw talk, then I'm in the right area, anyway I would love your opinions on this topic. I have a 08, 525 irs, and I would like to put a full exhaust on it, coil, and a better chain and sprockets on it to start. I want the exhaust to sound DEEP and THROATY. Any sugg? A high output coil? And when it comes to the sprocket, should I change my gearing. I just play around on my property, and some trails? Thanks for any advice.

I have a FMF 4.1 slip on and love it. It sounds great and looks very nice. The only high output coil i know of is the AMR Monster coil.

I think CT Racing probably makes the best pipe for the Outlaw.

Call Allen at CT Racing and he will set you up with a air filter kit...jetting...and a full pipe for less than the FMF system...and make more horsepower.

My second choice would be a HMF slip-on with an air-filter..and a JD jetting kit.

If you ride in wet or muddy conditions...I would also look into a EHS air box lid.

If you really want it to scream...bore the carb to 41mm and add a Vortex ignition.

That is pretty much it for bolt on additions...If you are more mechanically inclined...a more agressive cam is pretty easy to do.

Want even more....go with a big-bore 570 cylinder from Thumper Racing....it actually smooths the motor out while producing more torque and horsepower.

I heard of the CT exhaust systems, but I can't find any sound clips of it on you-tube. I did find the FMF 4.1 clips, and they right, it does sound good.

As for boring out the carb to 41mm, does it really make that much differance?
And would you have to change the cam to maximize the larger bore of the carb?

I will look into the vortex ign system.

Look up CT racing or CT racing exhaust on You-Tube...I found several.

boring the carb makes the bike come alive in the mid to top end without really any noticable loss in the low end.

I just got off the phone with Allen at CT, WOW that man knows his shit when it comes to outlaws. Within the ten minutes I spent talking to him, I learned more about the performance of a 525 then I did with hours of web searches.
The cool thing is, HE OWNS ONE, so to me, thats a big plus. I'm going to order a complete CT exhaust system and some other stuff next week. I'll write back then.

P.S. I did find sound clips of the CT exhaust on you-tube, I had to type in 525 KTM, then it came up.
