ratleing sound
my sons 08 525s started making deep rattleing sound from left side of engine when you pull clutch in it stops or if you put in gear with clutch pulled it rattles.we took both side covers off just a little in and out play at crank no up and down play though.we had clutches out they looked ok also.has anyone else had this sound coming from bottom end.with clutch pulled in motor revs fine in neutral ?

The KTM 525 motor has a known "knocking" issue....there is a bolt on the bottom of the crank that can come loose. My Polaris mechanic and I took mine apart and put red lock-tite on it to ensure that it doesn't ever come off again. This could definitely be what you are hearing!

The 525 clutch is known to be very noisy. I have read several things about this and everyone says it is ok. I hate the noise that my clutch makes. One day I am going to take it apart and see why it sounds like this. It sounds like it is going to explode!
