What octane gas do I use for an 08 525?
I've been running 93 octane and runs fine but I would like to know what is recommended. Thanks.

I know for my 06 500, it says you can run 87 octane, but when I'm with my family riding (both of their ATV's are Hondas, they recommend premium, so that's what mine gets as well (since their toy hauler's tank is filled with premium)..

I have an 08 525 irs and I use the Shell v-power. So premium. You don't go thru that much gas usually on a weekend ride so it is worth it.

In simple terms, you should use the octane rating the manual prescribes. Anything different is a waste or damaging.

Thank you for this info. I hope someone learned from it but I already knew this. I don't have a manual, this is why I was asking.
I seriously would have thought that this engine recommended at least 93. But you say the 525 was designed to run 87? Thank you for this info.
I did a compression check on it but I think the decompression devise was kicking in and gave me a false reading (75psi). What does the manual say is the compression ratio? This will tell me exactly what is needed.
