Surging when coming to a stop

When I come to a stop the idle goes high for a few seconds and then comes back down. Is this normal. I couldn't find anything in the threads related to it.

it sounds like air but i dont think with the fuji motor it would only do it for a sec or two then drop back down. Could be the slide hanging just a bit before closing. Im sure a good carb cleaning would take care of the problem.

Took it out to slades park today and ran it about 20 mins before it died all together. I could get it running at mid to high throttle while I was being pulled but black smoke out the back. Got it home and noticed the main needle came out of the diaphramg plunger thing. On the bottom side in the black plastic slider. Put it back in and it revs up and down fine now with a crisper throttle. With that said I see that the needle is only held in by a rubber gasket using pressire. Is there an upgrade out there to give a locking mech like alot of other carbs that I have to hold it in. All others I have use a twist locking piece to hold the needle into the plastic slider.
