Outlaw gets a little wet and loses all spark

I just bought a 2007 Outlaw 525 with IRS, I've never owned an atv before and dont know a lot about them. I understand how engines work and the parts but I've never really worked on anything, especially electrical. Anyways... the man i bought it from said one time he hit a big puddle and it quit and wouldnt start until it dried out. This past weekend my friends and I tried to go riding in nebraska, it started in the morning when we loaded it, but then we drove through rain most of the way there. Upon arrival at our destination, it wouldnt start and we determined it had ZERO spark.... so the day was a disaster for me. Naturally, after we drove the 3 hours back home, it started right up and ran perfect. Any ideas where I should look or what to look for if i pull the body covers off?

not sure dielectric grease in the boots is going to do it - assuming im thinking of the parts you are describing.. we checked for spark up by the coil and there was nothing, so it makes me think the problem is up behind the headlights in all the wires. I havnt taken it apart to see what all is back there yet, but im not sure im going to know what im looking at when i do.

if you take off your front plastics, under them in the wiring harness, there will be a connector that is not connected to anything. I dont remember what it is for, but it came from the factory like that, if you tape that connector up real good with electrical tape or something, it should solve your problem

I took it apart the other day... sprayed water on every connection while it was running, turns out when water hits the wires going into the plug that goes into the computer it dies and wont start. I put dielectric grease on every wire, wrapped up the wires and plug with black tape, and then wrapped the plug and wires with a plastic bag and zip tied everything tight... then tried spraying water on it again while it was running, everything is wonderful. I did tape up the other connections while i was at it though just to be safe.
