Just wondering if all of the aftermarket silencers are a "straight through" design? Because I cut open my stock silencer and gutted it and got a piece of 2 1/4'' (i think) exhaust pipe and gun drilled holes all through it then welded it together and wrapped the stock housing back around it and packed with fiberglass. It is loud as crap and I bet it is as good or very close to an aftermarket onein horsepower. I just couldnt see spending $300 when I could do this myself.

you have done nice work. my only issue is with the fact that it still weighs 5 times as much as a lightweight aftermarket pipe. that alone is enough to get me to cough up the $300. although i am cheap i shopped around and bought a nice hmf sport slipon, and a ti megabomb header all for about $300 used. i also bought a ti 4.1 fmf slip on for another $100 now i have a few different options and i think it looks great and sounds even better.

And i can tell you this the oem pipe is very heavy the new stuff was less than half the weight.

WheelieMan, I think two things:

1. Your Outlaw sounds wicked with that pipe and....
2. Put a helmet on!

I know how it is....just ripping around the yard or whatever. But just from experience, shit happens when you least expect it! Had to load a buddy into lifeflight who made it out of a 22 day coma after severe brain trauma! Put on the lid!

But yeah the FMF sounds real good. I have an HMF on mine, haven't heard any others in person so I can't really compare
