it has been at the dealer to get it fixed more then it has sat in the garage,i dont wanna take it back in cause they scratch the fenders all up and leave wires sticking out loose, can anyone give me an email or somethin to contact polaris factory?

polaris wont be able to help you much, they will just tell you to take it to your dealer.

whats been going on with it?

nevermind, i found your other thread

Quote:
it was missing and backfireing when givein it gas and its been at polaris dealer for 3 weeks now, they put a new coil in it and said it ran a lil better and now theyre trying to get a polaris tech from minnosota to check it out and it seems like polaris is to supportive, when im older i think ill buy from ktm, not polaris anymore idk this is unsatisfying
i gotta ask, have they checked that is has proper jetting for you elevation and temperature?

i know KTM recommends the valves are checked by now, but they are rarely out of spec everytime we have checked.

is it stock jetting?
how long has this thing sat at the dealership before you bought it?

price on valve adjustment depends on shop, ect. should be too much. the more you strip the quad down before you take it in, the cheaper it is (ie if you take all the plastics off before it goes in so the mechanic can get straight to the motor)

you not jetted right, and i bet that is the source of all of your problems here. can you tell if its a lean or rich backfire on decel?

well it does have any black stuff in the exhuast end its actually really clean but not white either,im thinking that its to lean but would that also cause problem to occur sometimes when trying to make a hard pull,it runs fine on flast black top wide open except for the backfireing a little when u let off the gas it doesnt backfire alot it just does it once kinda loudly when u let off id say around 4,000-5,000 rpm range when it does it or so...

its just not sounding like your jetting is right. im surprised that wasnt the first thing the dealership jumped on. the coil thing makes no sense to me. do you have a KTM dealer around? or better yet a KTM/polaris dealer?

i dont think theres a ktm dealer near or polaris/ktm , the polaris dealer is like 30 miles away from my house lol, is it easy to put jets in it? idk wich ones i need, hmf has a jet kit with different sizes 150,155,160 hex jets, im guesing thats the main jet.im buying a performance series slip on exhaust from hmf soon.also i have put a k&n air filter on it last month it has better throttle reponse and didnt affect the backfiring problem in a bad or good way..
