2006 sawtooth running problems

Machine starts fine cold but after 3/4 throttle it seems to miss and back fire. Only goes around 25 mph. Let off gas and it seems to run better. Idle has always been erratic. Checked plug and replaced(light brown, no oil) , cleaned carb, and air filter. Machine has had a history of stalling and hard starting after. Original owner , no mods, and ridden easy by daughters (200 miles). Machine has a history of issues about 50% of the time. Probably have given up on machine but want to have it fixed to sell. Help would be appreciated. Thanks

The new plug that I just put in is all black and appears that fuel isn't burning. The previous plug was light brown when problem started so I thought the plug was burning correctly. Hopefully this helps. Thanks

Main jet was 108 like manual stated. Dealer thinks it was a mistake and said 98 was stock. I went with a 100 and it seems to run better. Still a little cautious. Anyone with similar problem . Thanks

Sounds like a "rich" condition. Replace all jets with stock and run some seafoam in the tank. Be careful with the seafoam and read the directions as how much to add to a tank. Seafoam has cured about 5 or 6 mild carb problems I have encountered. Good luck.
