06 Phoenix with some issues... Help Please
I have recently purchased a 06 Phoenix 200 with very few hours. I noticed that the battery was not charging leaving me to kick start the machine. While running I disconnected the battery leads and checked with a volt meter. I was getting 3 volts. I believe it is the rectifier. Does this sound right? Or is there a better way to test this?
Second if the ATV is on rough terrain or jumping and landing under power, it seems to either pop out of gear or just grind the gears. I have done a little research and found that the 05's had the same issue. What was the fix to correct this?

I bought a 2005 Phoenix 200 last month. The battery was shot and the recgulator/rectifier was melted down. From what I understand the person who owned it before me kept running it this way. He would charge the battery and continue to replace fuses in the battery terminal cable. My suggestion would be to replace the regulator/rectifier before riding it again. It will cause more damage. As a matter of fact, the kickstart on mine is stripped from the previous owner. I chose to replace the regulator/rectifier, battery, and change the 15amp fuse to 30amp fuse. Now I have absolutely no issues with the battery charging and I'm holding close to 13 volts. If you do this and it still doesn't charge the battery, then you may need a new stator. I bought my regulator/rectifier from Rick's Motorsports Electric. I hope this will help.

Hello all. I just got a 2005 Phoenix for my girl. I ran a little rough and had to be revved before popping into gear. I washed it with a garden hose and it almost would not start, and finally stalled out. Now it wont start at all. I checked and there is no spark from my plug. I cleaned the plug and have 91 octane in the tank, but nothing. I checked connections and all are dry and secure to cdi and regulator rectifier. Plug and wire secure too. I ordered a Ricks Motosport CDI box for $130 and hope this fixes my problem. The Regulator rectifier should put out 11-13, but even if it is low will produce spark. All it will do is limit the volts to cdi box. I am not a mechanic but any input would be appreciated.
