Rear Shock adjustment trouble

I have read through a number of posts, and understand how to adjust the rear shock, however on mine the dial will not turn. It is in the number 1 position currently. Do you need to loosen the allen key in the centre to allow it to move or should just turning the dial be enough?

you just have to turn the dial so i would say it hasnt been messed with in a long time. spray it with some type of penetrating oil i like PB blaster myself but anything thats mad to penetrate should work let it sit for a few mins and then try turning it. You may end up having to buy a new one or take yours in and have it serviced if that doesnt work.

Make sure you jack your bike up from under the hitch part of it so the tires drop down and you take all the pressure off the spring. Once you do this, put your shock wrench on and make sure you have it seated well, then give quick powerful presses on it to get the adjustment block to move.

Use Pipe Wrench

I have had success using a Pipe Wrench with the Teeth Wrapped in cloth so as not to damage the finish.
Working it back and forth. With Weight off.
