Cooling & brake question.

I bought a 2005 Predator about 2 months ago. When I ride in the woods the machine seems to run hot. I put a new temp sensor in the radiator when I bought it. The fan runs fine, but it seems to run for a long time. I ran it for about 1/2 hr today to get it hot, then I left it running (sitting still) for 5-7 minutes and the fan was still running. Is this normal?

My second problem is the back brake. The guy put new rear pads on the bike when I bought it, but the brake did not work at all. I bled the brake and it works, sometimes. It will work one minute then you have to pump it the next. I have bled it more than 10 times with the same results. I guessing it is the rear master cylinder (although it does not leak) but I thought I would ask here first. As a side note, I bled through the top bleeder screw on the caliper, I could not get anything out of the bottom screw.

Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Chris

Mines an 07 and the fan runs all the time, it's normal.....not sure on the brakes, sounds like air but you've bled it.

yup, they run hot. I installed two inline coolers from pro design and a larger oil tank from cfm perf. It runs cooler now, mostly from the added oil capacity.

I agree with the other guys, the Pred runs hot. As long as it is not overheating, then should not be an issue

The brakes could be several things, i have a major issue with mine, replaced quite a few parts for nothing, and found out my caliper was hanging up. I would start there, take the caliper off and manually push it in with a c-clamp, then pump the brakes to make it expand. Do it a few times, might be the issue.

As many times that you have bled them i think your rite. Rear master cylinder is going bad. Possibly worn o-ring on plunger shaft allowing fluid to blow by & not build pressure to send to caliper. IMO.

Thanks to all. I was really worried about the cooling issue but it sounds like that is normal. I will probably put some of that Ice antifreeze in and see if that cools it down some.

I will check the caliper first and then the master. Thanks for the info.
