have a 05 predator 500 working on. fella brought it to me cause it wasnt running. it had a tight exhaust valve. had valves adjusted, drained fuel and put fresh 93 in it. took carb off and cleaned it. changed battery. plug looked new. cant get it to fire up. tried pushing and pulling it with my other 4 wheeler, but it wont bust off. gonna try one more new plug but after that i dont know. has 150 psi on compression now. plug is firing, cant tell if its weak though.. any help apreciated.
yeah you have to atleast line up the 2 golds up top and the T on the flywheel. i never had any luck just taking cam tensioner and rotating cams i had to pull the cam retainer off and pull the exhaust cam to get links around and lined up right.
there is a nut inside the clutch pack. take all the springs and allen bolts out. pull all the frictions and steels, make sure you get them back in in the same order, then you can pull the clutch basket nut. keep track of all the washers and doo dads. they have to go back in exactly. also do not mess with the clutch lever or gear shifter while the clutch is out.
yes dont lose the washer behind the clutch basket. then once thats out of the way you can pull your front sprocket off the crank and theres your timing mark
turned one more time links are up and the dots are up but not aligned. the clutch assembly is on the right side right?side the brake lever is on, not behind the stator?
lol no problem.put that side back on and go around to the other side of the quad. theres a crap load of bolts in the other side too. theres more moving parts on the clutch side but dont get scared we will walk you throw it.
r e a l l y s l o w except for our 525 outlaws and 600 predators which are way faster than any 558 predators in michigan, if that is really even a state. josh if that is your real name.
Hey don't argue til I get it done! Out in the cookies don't get no phone service. It looks like the lower gear is lined up.the link is about two teeth off.so I can loosen the chain.slide it back two teeth and line the two came up and be good? Do I need to loosen the chain guide to move the chain around ons the lower gear too?
