Oil in my airbox!
I was riding my Pred on some powerlines the other day and noticed that in the higher rpms my engine would bog down. I thought that was odd so I took my quad home and got to work. I took apart and cleaned the entire carb. But the first thing I noticed was that there was a large quantity of oil in the airbox (enough to cover the bottom plus some). There is a decent sized hose that runs to what I believe to be the crankcase. Anyone know why there would be oil in there? Or what that hose is for? I took off the air filter (which was nearly completely black) and it ran fine.

The hose is a crankcase vent. Not sure but a certain amount is normal atleast on mine.

Did you roll the unit lately? I know my son had the 2001 scrambler on it's side almost over, and when we got it home and went through it I had oil in box as well. The drain port or plug on my box is pretty much imposible for me to reach. On my Honda its right there. This made clean up a real pita!

I figured it was a crankcase something since, well it leads to the crankcase. Fortunately, no I haven't flipped it. I was thinking that since the air filter was crap and clogged with dirt and black stuff that maybe there was some suction in the airbox which caused it to fill with oil from the crankcase. I was just trying to see on here if anyone else has had this problem with their Pred because oil ending up in my airbox somehow makes me a little worried.
