Predator quits
Was at a Poker Rally on Saturday. It was raining the whole damn day... 30 minutes into it my quad just stopped, no lights no spark no estart. After a few minutes the lights came back on and I was able to run it again. Then it did the same thing again, happened all day. What should I be looking for?

it is the sealed black bag circuit near the rear of the predator. if it is getting wet or hot it will start doing just that. it needs to be replaced. either with the stock part from polaris. an after market one from hpd. or you could make one of your own from a self resetting 40 or 50 amp fuse from the auto parts store just make sure you seal it with some liquid electrical tape or you will have the same problem as the "sealed" one from polaris. they are not sealed at all and they let water and dirt inside and start to corrode and start shutting the quad off every time it heats up over and over with greater frequency.

Thanks for the suggestions. After cleaning the 200 pounds of mud off I'll start making the self resetting fuse.

The fuse you mention says 12v20amp. Any reason going to a bigger fuse?

they go bad. it could also just have been hot.
i am sorry if i gave you the wrong fuse size. i think the 20 amp one is for the fan and the other one had a bigger fuse but i could be wrong, it has been a while since i replaced one. i would just use the size that is in there.

Ive only found the one, located left side panel near the CDI box. Bought a new one at Crappy Tire today, will wire it up in the morning. If you look on page 188 of the service manual wiring diagram its located center bottom.

that is the one near the cdi that is for the running of the engine. the other one is under the front hood and it is for the operation of the cooling fan.
i was wrong about them being 30 or 40 amp fuses. they are both 20 amp fuses stock.
