throttle stuck?

i was riding in a firld last night everything was fine, turned it off waited about 5 mins then started it back up and it is stuck at about 50% open throttle, i took the top off the throttle housing and the cable moves fine and dosent seem to be bound up anywhere, any thoughts?

I'd start by lubing the cable and looking for a kink somewhere down below.

If that isn't it, pop off the cover to the throttle on the bars and make sure everything is attached in there.

i did that, and the cable seems to move fine, someone at work said it could be a return spring?. i dunno, i took the plastic cover off the side of the quad and there was a silver metal plate covering the place where the cable goes in. can someone please help me lol.

i would remove the carb and check the throttle vein ive had the vein retaining screws come loose and hold the throttle open.

will i have to readjust the carb after i check the screws? and where are they located?

My Sportsman 700 4x4 has the throttle cable on a wrong position and does accelerate when I turn right or left, it is dangerous.

Where can I get a schematic of the right way to install it?

first think i would check since you where riding and it was fine then after it sate for a few mins then when you restarted it to have the throttle at 50% i would check for a air leak could have just bounced around enough to bounce the carb lose just a bit it happens also check your choke cable to make sure it didnt get pulled
