Transmission Problem
Hello, i have an 03 predator 500. Clutch and trans works fine until i shift into 3rd gear. As soon as i hit 3rd, and i give it gas, it acts like theres a huge amount of slop in the drive train and then kicks back into 2nd gear. No grinding or noises. It sort of revs up then drops back to 2nd like 3rd gear isnt there but yet i can hit 3rd. Also it will not shift into 4th or 5th at all. I know its a trans issue. It is NOT a clutch problem. Im pretty mechanically inclined, just havent yet torn into the bottom end to find the culprit. Could it be as simple as a shift fork bent?

you have a bent shift fork known in the 03 fuji motors. Complete motor rebuild is in order. when you have it apart good time to big bore it and do the tranny upgrade in it as well. 03 trannys were known for being weak.

When you say tranny upgrade, what exactly do you mean? Is there a later model tranny i use? Or a special ordered kit. More info is appreciated.
