05 Predator 50 no power

2005 Predator 50 starts and idles great but no power to get moving. When I have it on the stand it runs great but as soon as you get the weigh of the atv on the tires it will not move. Changed plug, cleaned the stator, cleaned the carb, checked the tension on the chain. All looks good. Thanks for any help.

Assuming the 2005 still a 2-stroke, did you do a compression test?

Pulled the cover off and there is no oil leaking from the seals around the cluch. It all looks dry and the gear oil is at the full line on the sight gauge. Does the belt supose to be tight or a little loose? This one is tight and is sitting almost on the shaft between the aft cluch plates.

Yes its a 2 stroke but need to get a comperession gauge today.

Thanks for your help so far...

Ok changed ignition coil and stator still same problem. No power to the ground unless you pick the back up end. Got a compression gauge from Autozone but I think it was broken. No movement to the needle on the gauge. I tried it in my other atv and same issue and that one runs great. If there is low compression what will need to be changed?

Thanks....

if the compression is too low it will need a full rebuild, but if its not bad than you have too look into seeing if the head is bad gaskets are sealed good and possible have bad valves, the good thing though you found no oil when you checked the lower half so my guess is your not gonna have to reuild fully just have too find the problem if possible take it too your local polaris dealer an let them check the compression had mine done on my predator 500 for thirty dollars

Don't know too much about engines but this is a 2 cycle so should there be a little bit of fuel/oil in the lower half of the engine (where the piston rod/shaft is)? I will get the dealership to do the compression test this weekend.

Thanks again for the help.
