2004 Polaris Predator 50
Hello all!
New to this forum, so please excuse me if I am in the wrong section.
My sons Predator 50 started and ran great last December. I went to take it out the other day because he started to gain interest again. The battery was dead, so I charged it over night. I installed it the next morning and tried to start it and nothing, I was able to hit the start button about 5 times then the battery went dead again. I also tried to kick start it and it still won't start. I dumped the gas and cleaned the carb and tried agian with starter fluid (which usually works) but nothing. I then pulled the plug and checked for spark, it would arc on one side of the plug and then the second time it would arc on the other side, it also seemed pretty weak (with charged battery and kick start and a new plug). Do these little atvs need a good charged battery to be able to kick start it? I also ordered a new battery, this time I spent more and got a Bike Master True Gel Battery instead of the $12.00 ebay battery I had.
My buddy told me it might be the stator, which I am can't beleive because it was hardly ridden.
Please help!
Thanks

It very well might be battery related because the stator is so small. I would wait until you get the new battery before you worry about troubleshooting futher.
I would also probably pick up so seafoam and mix it into the gas for good measure.

Ok Thanks I really hope its the battery. Could I test it with the battery from my TRX400EX? I already put Stabilizer in the fuel, can I also put Seafoam?

I figured it out, the fuel line was pinched. I must have pinched it when I re installed the carb after cleaning. BTW no need for the battry to kick start.
Thanks
