Carb Jetting
I have a HMF Iron Man exaust.. My bike is stock besides that, I have a jet kit on the bike right now and it runs good but It pops and I was wondering if that's good and I also with that exhaust what size jet is recommended for that type of exhaust?

Hello!
When you say it pops, is this symptom when on the throttle, on decel, all the time? Are you smelling unburnt fuel? What does your plug look like? Is your valve lash correct?

When I decelerate
Not sure if I smell unburnt fuel or just the exhaust that barreling out.
I will check my plug soon
What is valve lash?

Guys feel free to step in and correct me if I'm wrong but just about every atv/ dirt bike I've ever owned popped a bit on decel when tuned right. It's just that little bit of unburnt fuel from throttle burning in the hot exhaust pipe. Is it affecting performance? I guess it all depends on how much its popping. If I had to guess I would say that mine pops 2 times between full throttle on its way down to idle. Im no expert on this by any means. Valve lash is the clearance between the cam lobes and the valve bucket when piston is at top dead center. Valvecover has to come off to check this. I wouldn't go that far until I checked compression and I would only do that for a low power or smoking issue. I think you are okay unless you are noticing power or performance issues like bogging or missing.

Here's a little guide to jetting, but just an introduction. I think you prob have a .165 or .155 main jet now. The only way to know for sure is to pull it and read the number.

The bike has no lack of power at all
It's about like yours, it'll pop about twice during decel
I wanted to hear it from someone who knew, I don't know much about jetting
I bought the bike from a guy who already jetted it.
I'm gonna pull it off and take a look soon as I get a chance

exhaust popping on decel is usually from either a few things. cold air getting into your exhaust either a leaking exhaust flange or gasket. my race build pops twice every time i go from full throttle to closed every time. i wouldnt worry to much about it as long as your plug looks good.

Pulled my plug off yesterday and it looked like it is burning fine, it was probably the original so I changed it
