Hi Just bought a Predator, got a few ?

Hi all Just bought a 2006 Predator, against what others said. I rode it and liked better than anything else I had ridden especially for the price.

I took it out the first time and had a problem with the 2005 450r carb the previous owner put on. The bolts that hold the arm link to the throttle valve came out and the clip on the jet needle had come off. I can only think the guy had this carb apart and did not reassemble it correctly. I am now going over everything to make sure nothing else is wrong.

I have read alot of the posts but wanted to be sure that the black cap on top, I think its called the valve set, should be plugged and I can cut the wires on the heater assembly. Last the main jet is a 190 and the slow jet is a 48. The bike seems to run rich while it ran. Does this sound correct? Should I go to a 180 main and 42 slow.

Any other suggestions let me know.

All my buddies said see we told you not to buy a Polaris and they are on Honda 400exs/300exs. I said the only thing wrong is the Honda part.

No its the Stock head. It has 4 bolts and the Honda only has three.

alot of guys run the TRX450r honda carb on the predator. go over to Polaris Pro Riders and introduce yourself then go down to the predator section and post the same question tons of guys there have ran the 450 carb on the predator. I had one then oped to stick with the stock cv carb.
