rear axle help!!!
first off i would like to thank whoever will be able to help me out... And please dont laugh at my inexperience with this situation.
I was prepping my bike today to go for a nice ride over the weekend... i changed the oil flushed the coolant changed a wheel bearing and changed a circut breaker.... i then started working on the rear end of the bike, due to a problem with my rear break ( the bracket that holds the calliper is loose and rattles) so i started taking my wheel off, as i was jacking the bike up i noticed that i could shift my axle easly (in any direction)...
i'm just wondering at how much it would run me to get it fixed at a shop... cus i really dont feel like doing it myself... thanks again to anyone that can answer me!!!

mine has the exact same problem at this moment, i think the axle shifting thing is rear axle bearings, the brake thing i have no idea, i just try to use the fronts, the rear brake lever dosent seem to do much on mine anyway unless i really push it far down. same as yours??

If you're talking about the axle having slack at the diff, that is normal to an extent. Can't tell you why or how the slack happens, other than possibily from wear.

no like if i put a cement block under the rear so that the tires are off the ground, and i grab the axle and push and pull back and forth the axle moves probably 1/4 to 1/2 an inch or so total, is that normal?
