Fuji vs ktm

I read somewhere in a polaris brochure about the outlaw "powered by the light weight KTM motor". Would anyone happen to know the weight difference between the KTM 525 and the Fuji 500... And is it a big enough difference in weight and power to consider putting a 525 in the predator?

And I've also heard about alot of maintenance to be done to the KTM... Could someone specify the procedures of maintenance on it?

Thanks!

im not exactly sure on weight difference but i believe its over 50 lbs and a stock ktm525 will eat a 600 hot seats big bore predator all day long. As for maintenance its like everything else thats built as a race built machine. Oil needs changed often and the bike needs looking over. But some would say theres alot of maintenance on the predators valves need checked every 50 hours oil changes ever 10 hours sprockets should be changed out every year and most likely changed out if you ride at all. Like everything else tho the more you take care of something the longer (most the time) it will last. In my flat track built predator I change the oil after every race weekend. Valves are checked every 4 races. Sprockets are checked while doing oil changes. Everything is greased every race. Rims checked for signs of stress do to all side stress in corners. So really it just depends on you and how long you want your big money toys to last.

Now onto the bad news. The 525 isnt an easy swap. Upper frame rail needs modded to fit motor. Tank then needs modded to fit over modded frame rail. So it just depends on how much time you want to put into the predator to get that motor put in there. For the price of a good 525 you can almost get the whole quad.

Wow lol
Didn't know it was that fast
Yea I try and do maintenance to my bikes as to the way it should be done and it is alot but I don't mind if it means it will last longer. I'm about to learn how to do a valve check... Hope it won't be to bad lol

That's alot of work lol. there's a predator down the road for my house that needs some tlc that my brother and I are thinking about buying and maybe putting the motor in it.

He has a predator as well

Cool deal
Next winter I'm planning on taking my pred apart and getting the frame painted, new fenders and ceramic coat the exhaust.
