2003 Predator 500
My friend recently bought this pile of crap for $1600... Has many problems and I really dont know what these morons are thinking when they decide to just cut the harness up for no reason.
First off wouldnt start unless push started, then when the fan switch(also a custom addition because the guy somehow broke the temp sensor?) was turned on it would stall out...we thought the battery was completly junk because it wasnt charging at all and the positive terminal was broke so we got a new battery and thought all was good until it stalled out on a ride and we had to push start it and it would barely idle. Got to looking at it today and found 2 wires from the battery not going to anything were missing from the plug in the rectifier, plugged them into the harness and now the battery reaches 17.6 volts at medium/high throttle so I think I found the charging problem. It still runs a little rough and backfires, not sure if gas is bad but I know it has K&N with about 12 vents put in the box and the guy said it was jetted but I havent got to checking that out because I cant figure out how the choke cable comes out of the carb. My friend has a stator, complete harness and temp sensor on the way so we can eliminate about every electrical problem...harness and sensor are needed but stator isnt now.
Also has a problem with the back caliper, very loose and moves all over the place and im not sure how its suppose to be or if anything is missing or if its just completly wore out and also in the front of the quad there are two plugs going to nothing at all, I have no idea whats suppose to be there and I have looked at oem fiche of parts and nothing up there is missing... So if anyone knows anything about the carb on this thing or the rear brake or electrical...please help

The rear cailper is loose on all Pred, so that is not a major deal. Also, they all have the 2 open plugs up front also. Hope this helps some

Yes, that helps alot thank you. Tore carp apart today and adjusted jetting and needle settings and also put a yamaha warrior kill/light/start switch on because the $73 for one is rediculous, took a while to figure all the wires out but its working great now and I think something is still wrong with the caliper because it moves quite a bit...I think the whole plate is wore out along with the bushing but oh well.
