I have a Scrammy 90 as well. I *think* you have to have the rear brake lever in the locked position for it to start...it is connected to a switch. I'm not in front of the quad right now, but I can go look later if you need me to.

Is the wrist strap lanyard firmly plugged in? I doubt the timing would be off. Is the ETC switch in the throttle housing ok?

I would post your question over in the mini forum on ATV Riders.com. Very large group of mini gurus there.

You said it won't fire. Spraying starting fluid will not make it fire. Starting fluid will damage the engine if you use to much. Now you are saying you have fire. Starting fluid replaces fuel in the carb. 3 things need to happen in order for an engine to run they are spark, fuel and compression. Is the battery fully charged? My son has a 2001 Sportsman 90 it has an electric choke if battery is dead the choke don't work. The choke works on it when you squeeze the brake lever. We need to determine if it's firing or not. I think it's not firing from what I gather. If it's not firing look at on/off key switch, tether kill switch, and rocker on/off switch. If any of those switches don't complete a circuit it won't fire. Look at it again real close and let us know what you find. In the meantime I will put my thinking cap on. Glad to help you.

Good suggestion about the electric choke...forgot the stock carb had that. We're running a power jet carb on our big-bore race ported 90 with a manual choke.

i do have manual choke switched over yr ago
i checked spark and when compared to my 04 polaris sportsman 90cc it isnt as bright....
checked compression i have 115
i left the sparkplug out had my boy kick start it put my hand where the spark plug goes didnt get much gas on my hand but had some how much should i expect?
so i put plug back in kicked it a couple times nothing took plug out sprayed alittle starting fluid in it put plug in kicked a couple times nothing
i think my spark is the cause of it all weak when compared the sportsman 90cc
