go to bikebandit or cyclepartwarehouse and look into you year of scrambler - you'll see there is a 'ca' designation and a 'cb' designation, there are differences in more than just the cv joints. the easiest way to tell is to look at the shift lever mount. if you go to the section for the shift lever mount, you can see if you machine matches the ca or cb picture. look up under the right front fender and you can see the linkage mount. the ca one has wires coming out of it and the cb doesn't, but look at the pictures yourself and you'll see what i mean. mine is a cb, and i'm having trouble finding cv joints. the previous owner ordered two but they came wrong - likely for a ca 99 scrambler and mine is a cb. anyways i have two brand-new ca ones if thats what yours turns out to be.....

I think CV's are the only part that does this, but when you look at the CV description, it should list the brand or name of CV joint. If you look at yours, somewere on there it should also list a brand or name, and you just match it up that way.
